It's the same scan of Azmaria looking back in both wallpapers, though. The

guess that's the best way I can describe it. I haven't seen the wallpaper in any
number of months, so it's hard to remember what it looked like exactly.. but it
was quite bright.
Does anyone have a clue what I'm talking about here?
I'm missing an Azmaria wallpaper I found on here about a year or so back. It was
so good, too. It used one of the OverDrive scans (I think it's Overdrive) with
Azmaria looking back at you in a beach-sort of setting. It had a white grungry
looking border, and it was 1600x1200 if I remember correctly.
This LCD did wonders in showing it's clarity, as it's an amazingly clear
wallpaper, and I was thoroughly impressed with it. Unfortunately, I lost all of
my data about six months ago and someone/the board bot had removed it for
various reasons unknown to me. I'm still crusading trying to find the thing on
wallpaper websites after all of this time, but it's almost a lost
cause.
Does anyone have this? If they could PM me a link to it, or I can PM you my
e-mail address in the event you tell me you have it.. I'd be most greatful,

Right, so while we're doing that, let's just let the media have all of our
national secrets so the enemy (any enemy) will know and understand our national
securities or lack of them.
One thing that needs to be noted here, the muslim religion is not one of
practical peace, as can be found in evidence from it's scriptures. However, as a
Christian, I will tolerate the Muslim religion. I find it increasingly difficult
to do that, especially given the below images, among other recent events in our
history.
They just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Oh, and since I'm Christian,
could I go ahead and wave a few signs around at some of the art I've found less
than tolerable? Such as.. crap and piss on Jesus with crucifix that was
glorified at a New York art exhibit (and received national media attention),
or.. maybe the recent drawing of Bin Laden as Jesus, complete with crown of
thorns (which receives.. almost no attention from the same media?)?
Should we Christians have began a riot and burning buildings in the same
fashion? No, instead we were pretty quiet about that minus a few protests. Last
I checked we weren't burning down state embassies:
Oh, and don't worry for anyone in disagreement or disbelief with me -- I don't

rather nice photos and other information I wouldn't see elsewhere, such as on

say for alot of folks on here. Sorry if I've offended, not entirely my
intention, but I figure if this topic is going to be discussed, it needs a
little bit of realism and the realization for some that alot of folks are living
in a dreamworld when it comes to this.
Again I find myself reading one of these "in circles" threads only to
see the first page is mindlessly enough.
Sorry, but evolution is theory, not fact.
Scientific theory. It may have been taught to you as fact, but believe you me,
it is not fact. Who has told you otherwise is ignorantly wrong. Evolution, as
well as creation, both have gaping holes of question. Christians would tell us
to believe the bible as it's our guidelines in Christianity, evolutionists would
tell us to look at what science has founded and built upon through thousands
upon millions of years. And no one here is going to disprove or prove anything
any science has given us, much the same as any human disproving or proving that
any God or Jesus has ever walked the earth. Apparently, our little feeble minds
are just too much to comprehend it, and the ignorance displayed by some of you
on even the -first page- of this thread proves -that- is a fact.
Quote: It is based on this quote
from the First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an
establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof". The
courts have ruled, and of course we agree, that establishing school prayer,
bible studies, and many other religious activities cannot be promoted by the
government in government structures and public schools as it violates this ideal
of keeping the government from promoting or hindering any
religion.
The first amendment wasn't intended to draw atheists a wall, ender. It was a
statement to mankind that no church would be an independent portion of
government as a national denomination, case and point: the Church of England.
Furthermore, Thomas Jefferson himself wrote that religious freedom did not come
from government, rather that it is derived from God. That is to say, God himself
was a given in the constitution. Knowing what our forefathers wrote in other
documents beforehand and well after the time the constitution was conceived is a
point that can be and has been proven time and time again.
Quote by thecatmistresswhoa you
went to the constitution to prove your point about God... jeez..... we went from
plainly expressing our ideas, to the seperation of the state and religion....
tough crowd...
The constitution did not prove my point about God. I'm not quite sure what you
read, but in no way was I making a case for God being proven in the United
States binding documents.
I was, however, following a tangent regarding most athiests beliefs and
generally where this topic heads whenever the debate turns sour if they're
unable to sway a believers belief.
Simply put, I'd suppose you could say we all believe in something like mindless
fools, atheists included.
..
Another thing I just saw:
Quote: We like America. America was
built to promote the majority and protect the minority. Can you blame us for
wanting to establish our rights?
With God being a given the constitution as I've stated above.. where do you
believe the United States' freedom comes from? It's endowed by our
creator.
By establishing your rights, you're running over mine as a Christian. I feel
it's my right to stare at a Ten Commandments sign in a government building if I
wish. I feel it's my right to pray in the school of my choice. I feel it's my
children's right to pray in the school of their choice. This isn't a taking over
of people who wish to not believe, quite the contray -- that's what atheism is
attempting to do to people who do wish to believe. I've no problem with atheism,
but atheism had better have no problem with me.. and unfortunately, that's the
case.. and that's why this is such a problem.
Quote by ProgramZERO These
bible-thumpers never fail to make me laugh. They say Atheists have no
logic.
Here again I find myself tripping over ignorant masses, most especially when it
comes to the topic of Christianity. "Bible-thumpers", thanks for the
insults btw -- they further my belief in the bible and it's written word,
"bible-thumpers" simply do something athiests apparently feel they're
immune to -- believe. I'm sure you've been told before atheism is a religion. Of
course, it isn't, but figuratively speaking -- we can run with that definition.
The simple question here that everyone is arguing over, despite their insults of
the bible, despite their supposed logic on much of anything (no matter what side
of the debate you're on).. the question is one of belief. Do you believe in God
or do you not? If you don't believe in God, so be it -- that's your thing. That
doesn't make it okay for you to attempt to roll over people who do. And I'm sure
some Atheists will state oppression in the name of religion regarding America
being a primarily Christian country (statisticly speaking, it's somewhere above
75%, though I'm not quite sure of the exact figures). For example, atheists have
a real problem, apparently, with the Ten Commandments being displayed in
government buildings, also 'under God' being found in our pledge. I'm sorry to
state -- if you don't enjoy America because of it's founded base in
Christianity, it's time to move to Canada.. or Germany.. or France.. I've heard
Germany and France have extremely low numbers of worshipers, statisticly
speaking. Your belief of a nonexisting God would fit in like a glove.
And this brings things on to another level of this topic in which atheists fail
to understand -- the seperation of church and state. Simply put, minus
constitutional interpretation, please give us all an exact quote where
seperation of church and state is specificly stated within our constitution or
bill of rights. Thanks.
Quote by GEENot for me. Does it make me an
atheist because I prefer logic over taking the bible
litteraly?
No, but in order to understand your religion and the God we Christians worship,
I'd certainly think reading his written word would be one hell of an
encyclopedia and a good place to start.
Quote by ProgramZEROFirst of all,
Atheists base their life on logic while God followers base their life on a
book.
No, "God followers", Christians, base their life on belief and faith.
Much like what you atheists follow, actually, except I fail to place my faith in
man -- man, in which, can't even begin to grasp concepts of his own body, his
own world, his beginning, his end, and beyond.
And finally, I couldn't think of a better way to sum this up than what crystille
reminds us of:

Actually, it's because of the lack of refineries, not the lack of oil. A large
portion of the US refineries, unfortunately, were in the path of Katrina
although they're stated to be back online.

No offense, but the above quoted sentence doesn't exactly sit well with me. If
this has an attitude, then it fits like a glove within a very widespread, and
unfortunate, mentality concerning linux users, "elites". However,
maybe I'm reading too much into it and you were simply specifying to read a
book. If that's the case -- I have, several informative books, in fact. I'm no
newbie to Linux in general, as the original thread states. I
just haven't used it enough to pick up the cool factor with, notably, eyecandy
or gaming. Plus, I'd like to code on some MUD codebases (Emlen, anyone?) and
throw it up every once in awhile..
In the case no one has checked the Frugalware distro, you'll probably want to
try that out. It's receiving some pretty high marks, and I believe tux has a
review on it. The screens do look pretty nice..
Yeah, Zero's right. Gimp is usually considered for Linux, but it does have a
Windows port available. I *think* the primary website address is gimp.org, but
don't count me twice on that. Google search 'gimp' in the case that's wrong and
you're bound to find it.
I remember having my very own 8086, or 8088.. then the 286sx came along.. then
the 386SX..
My dad bought a brand new 486dx/32 with 8mb of ram and a 9600 baud modem for
just over $2,000.
<edit> I logged into several different bulletin board systems.. one being
the Sounds of Silence, where I loved playing a text-based game called

14.4k and I thought, "whooa! This is so fast."

^.^;;; I know. Some people's desktop screenshots I've seen are nothing short of
amazing. I just /love/ home-user computer technology.
i hate to draw comparisons, but I guess most of you could relate with it. I'm
going for the whole Serial Experiments Lain thing -- eight or nine different
desktops. Pretty soon, I'll be logging on to the wired in style. >.>;;;;
Yeah, I'm a geek, I know.
I love the widescreen look for desktops -- you can fit so many more things on
them desktop-wise, but the 4:3 aspect ratio is certainly more common and easier
to work with overall as far as wallpaper, in particular, is concerned.
I'll take a gander at the Dell monitors around town.. certainly can't tell much
about one on the internet. What blew me over in the wind on buying the Samsung
I'm staring at currently is the fact it was on display and being used with
several other brands playing the same video.
Quote by speedfreek19would that
still be going for dual monitor?
No idea, but I'd have to assume so. Upon selecting the second monitor selection
in Windows XP's display preferences, I can set the resolution differently from
the first monitor.
Quote by tiki223Samsung is the only one

Meaning 1 dead pixel and you can get a replacement!
I actually do have a dead pixel on this LCD located at the very tip top of the
screen that I rarely notice. Sometimes it pops up as red.. other times black,
and I'm not understanding why that is, but it's not really a big problem.
Because of this, I did check Samsung's official website regarding their policy
-- it's 10 dead pixels minimum the last I looked.
But what about monitor recommendations? Anyone have a great looking LCD monitor
20"+ that displays so cleanly you could eat off of it?
(edit: Yet again, viewing X P as XP really does make sense.)

and such
Yes, I do photoshop work. Though I haven't made any wallpapers for here in a
long while, I've been working pretty hard in Adobe to try to get
better.
But I wasn't talking about putting 1600x1200 on the 19". :P The 19"
will go no further than 1280x1024. I'm talking about buying another monitor for
1600x1200.
I currently use a Samsung 19" LCD, model 193P. It's a beautiful monitor..
absolutely crisp as crisp can be, bright, and shows whites with such a superb
clarity that I can't even begin to describe it. For a $620 price at the time, it
matched a $1,000 Sony LCD sitting right beside it, if not went beyond
it.
With that being said, the Samsung 19" I currently use has a native
resolution of 1280x1024. I'm interested in buying another LCD monitor supporting
1600x1200 and having a dual-monitor desktop with the dual-monitor video card I
own.
So my question(s) --
#1. Is upgrading from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200 worth it if you're requiring the
workspace? Has anyone else been in a comparable situation like this?
And #2. What LCD monitor(s) supporting 1600x1200 would you recommend for
quality? I'm looking at the Samsung 213T (I believe this is the model number)
which is a 21" LCD monitor. I'm willing to go between $600-$1000 on the
price range for the new monitor. Suggestions anyone?
I have Cool Devices. >.>; I'm not sure how I acquired it because I just
found the CD one day. I think a friend dropped it off. Atleast, I hope a friend
dropped it off. hrrm.

would.
Sorry if I'm stepping on toes, but this only goes to show how grossly
misinformed the majority of Bush-bashers are concerning this president. In 2000,
Bush was elected via the Electoral College. However, in 2004, Bush received the
majority of popular vote (being a wartime president, you have to understand
Kerry received the lot of the vote based on anti-war sentiment and not his
policies), yet the liberal side of things attempted pushing Ohio over the barrel
so Kerry would be elected through electoral votes, not popular vote. It's quite
funny how karma comes around and attacks you.
The last I checked, Bush's policies in Iraq are taking hold. The media is a
known slant to the liberal left -- and if you don't believe it, continue
watching the Hurricane coverage and notice how much Bush "and his
administration" is mentioned to be at fault yet there's rarely a mention of
local or state government (governor of Louisiana and mayor of New Orleans) in
finger pointing for blame. Local and state government, in the case you were not
aware, are the two government bodies that should have been prepared in the event
of this hurricane that people have been warning them about for decades.
If you listen to the lot of the Bush bashers bash Bush, you'll think the country
only began at his presidency -- as if there was never a natural disaster before,
as if there never was a war before.. as if Bush was the reason we were attacked
on 9/11, Bush was the reason there was a hurricane, Bush was the reason for
basically everything coming into being. Please do some research and don't wait
for your TV to tell you everything. The media does have a bias, as do college
professors, high school teachers, and elementary teachers.
i personally believe the beheading of Nick Berg, I believe that was his name,
needs to be watched more often in school classrooms so the lot of upcoming
children know what hatred in the world is actually about. Which follows me up to
the next point:
The United States has always been hated to some degree. However, if you look at
the current polls being taken in various countries, the US is improving
dramatically in it's "image" as we are staying the course, as we
always have, in the magnificent portion of this continent we Americans call our
country.
Quote by AkaikenAnd it sucks that many
people use God just to critize someone...
I know many pages of this thread have passed (34 at the time of this writing),
but I think the above quote is true for not only people using God in this
instance but also criticizing in the name of science as well. As I've read only
four pages of this thread (and have no intention of going further), I've found
atleast one person stating science is a better belief system than Christianity
or any other religion. It should be noted here -- science is a theory. All
things you've been taught through school regarding science are theoretical, as
there is no way to prove (nor will there ever be such a way to prove) the
origins of the earth, the origins of the solar system, the origins of this life,
the origins of this universe, where we're going after death if anywhere, etc.
etc. etc. etc. etc. With that being said, science itself and anyone lying in bed
with it are on shaky ground.
Let me be so simple by stating the decision of this life revolves around a
single question -- do I have faith in God or do I have faith in man? I have
faith in God and I state it so and pray it so daily. Ultimately, we're all going
to find out some day what our fates are. But with this, I invite all of you who
aren't Christian to please pick up a bible and atleast give it a read. If you've
given it a read, try to atleast open your heart to Jesus. Prayer, giving
thanks.. You shouldn't expect a million dollars, but you can expect love in
something other than yourself.
PS. Why am I not bothering to read this thread anymore after four pages? Because
it's the same discussion every thread. It's unfortunate this topic rotates
around and around on a wheel, but opening your heart for forgiveness isn't too
much to ask, nor is it a bad thing in anyone's book.
PS.. PS?
Quote: If you have actual prove of
either idea then please share, otherwise I'd like the guessing to stop and have
prove of either believes.
By the way -- there's a reason people call it a "belief" and
"faith" in that "belief". Is it that hard to figure out?
But this shoots back to science as well.. which bases itself in supposed
"fact", not belief. Can you give me valid scientific fact that has
been proven regarding the origins of the earth, the universe, life after death,
etc.?
Where will this cycle of nonsense and debate end?
.. by the way, I just read the last page after my post.
That's all, promise.

with what I had read. I've tried E16, but I'm having problems with one of the

some issues trying to find imlib after it's installed. I've tried everything
it's suggested, but I'm not quite sure where to go from there.

What about games? What are some official games that have linux ports? This is
all kinda new to me and I'm trying to get something working I can be somewhat
familiar with to expand on.
While we're talking about random linux entertainment proggies, I have used
Vmware and have came away impressed with being able to run Windows fullscreen

sound seems.. crackly.. for the lack of a better word, and I'm not really
understanding what is going on there. Even after installing the Vmware tools
thing, it's still got some issues. So playing a game based on Windows from
within Vmware is almost out of the question.

I feel it's my right to pray in the school of my choice. I feel it's my children's right to pray in the school of their choice. This isn't a taking over of people who wish to not believe, quite the contray -- that's what atheism is attempting to do to people who do wish to believe. I've no problem with atheism, but atheism had better have no problem with me.. and unfortunately, that's the case.. and that's why this is such a problem.
Here again I find myself tripping over ignorant masses, most especially when it comes to the topic of Christianity. "Bible-thumpers", thanks for the insults btw -- they further my belief in the bible and it's written word, "bible-thumpers" simply do something athiests apparently feel they're immune to -- believe. I'm sure you've been told before atheism is a religion. Of course, it isn't, but figuratively speaking -- we can run with that definition. The simple question here that everyone is arguing over, despite their insults of the bible, despite their supposed logic on much of anything (no matter what side of the debate you're on).. the question is one of belief. Do you believe in God or do you not? If you don't believe in God, so be it -- that's your thing. That doesn't make it okay for you to attempt to roll over people who do. And I'm sure some Atheists will state oppression in the name of religion regarding America being a primarily Christian country (statisticly speaking, it's somewhere above 75%, though I'm not quite sure of the exact figures). For example, atheists have a real problem, apparently, with the Ten Commandments being displayed in government buildings, also 'under God' being found in our pledge. I'm sorry to state -- if you don't enjoy America because of it's founded base in Christianity, it's time to move to Canada.. or Germany.. or France.. I've heard Germany and France have extremely low numbers of worshipers, statisticly speaking. Your belief of a nonexisting God would fit in like a glove.
And this brings things on to another level of this topic in which atheists fail to understand -- the seperation of church and state. Simply put, minus constitutional interpretation, please give us all an exact quote where seperation of church and state is specificly stated within our constitution or bill of rights. Thanks.
No, but in order to understand your religion and the God we Christians worship, I'd certainly think reading his written word would be one hell of an encyclopedia and a good place to start.
No, "God followers", Christians, base their life on belief and faith. Much like what you atheists follow, actually, except I fail to place my faith in man -- man, in which, can't even begin to grasp concepts of his own body, his own world, his beginning, his end, and beyond.
And finally, I couldn't think of a better way to sum this up than what crystille reminds us of:
Amen.
Actually, it's because of the lack of refineries, not the lack of oil. A large portion of the US refineries, unfortunately, were in the path of Katrina although they're stated to be back online.
$2.60-ish for gas in Tennessee.
Btw, did I say I love my SUV?
No offense, but the above quoted sentence doesn't exactly sit well with me. If this has an attitude, then it fits like a glove within a very widespread, and unfortunate, mentality concerning linux users, "elites". However, maybe I'm reading too much into it and you were simply specifying to read a book. If that's the case -- I have, several informative books, in fact. I'm no newbie to Linux in general, as the original thread states.
I
just haven't used it enough to pick up the cool factor with, notably, eyecandy
or gaming. Plus, I'd like to code on some MUD codebases (Emlen, anyone?) and
throw it up every once in awhile..
In the case no one has checked the Frugalware distro, you'll probably want to try that out. It's receiving some pretty high marks, and I believe tux has a review on it. The screens do look pretty nice..
Yeah, Zero's right. Gimp is usually considered for Linux, but it does have a Windows port available. I *think* the primary website address is gimp.org, but don't count me twice on that. Google search 'gimp' in the case that's wrong and you're bound to find it.
I was 9.. I'm 24 now, sooo..
I remember having my very own 8086, or 8088.. then the 286sx came along.. then the 386SX..
My dad bought a brand new 486dx/32 with 8mb of ram and a 9600 baud modem for just over $2,000.
<edit> I logged into several different bulletin board systems.. one being the Sounds of Silence, where I loved playing a text-based game called Tele-arena. >.>;;; And I remember upgrading from the 2400 baud modem to a 14.4k and I thought, "whooa! This is so fast."
>.>;;;; I think I'm showing my age. v.v
^.^;;; I know. Some people's desktop screenshots I've seen are nothing short of amazing. I just /love/ home-user computer technology.
i hate to draw comparisons, but I guess most of you could relate with it. I'm going for the whole Serial Experiments Lain thing -- eight or nine different desktops.
Pretty soon, I'll be logging on to the wired in style. >.>;;;;
Yeah, I'm a geek, I know.
I love the widescreen look for desktops -- you can fit so many more things on them desktop-wise, but the 4:3 aspect ratio is certainly more common and easier to work with overall as far as wallpaper, in particular, is concerned.
I'll take a gander at the Dell monitors around town.. certainly can't tell much about one on the internet. What blew me over in the wind on buying the Samsung I'm staring at currently is the fact it was on display and being used with several other brands playing the same video.
No idea, but I'd have to assume so. Upon selecting the second monitor selection in Windows XP's display preferences, I can set the resolution differently from the first monitor.
I actually do have a dead pixel on this LCD located at the very tip top of the screen that I rarely notice. Sometimes it pops up as red.. other times black, and I'm not understanding why that is, but it's not really a big problem. Because of this, I did check Samsung's official website regarding their policy -- it's 10 dead pixels minimum the last I looked.
But what about monitor recommendations? Anyone have a great looking LCD monitor 20"+ that displays so cleanly you could eat off of it?
(edit: Yet again, viewing X P as XP really does make sense.)
Yes, I do photoshop work. Though I haven't made any wallpapers for here in a long while, I've been working pretty hard in Adobe to try to get better.
But I wasn't talking about putting 1600x1200 on the 19". :P The 19" will go no further than 1280x1024. I'm talking about buying another monitor for 1600x1200.
I understand the title is a bit confusing.
I currently use a Samsung 19" LCD, model 193P. It's a beautiful monitor.. absolutely crisp as crisp can be, bright, and shows whites with such a superb clarity that I can't even begin to describe it. For a $620 price at the time, it matched a $1,000 Sony LCD sitting right beside it, if not went beyond it.
With that being said, the Samsung 19" I currently use has a native resolution of 1280x1024. I'm interested in buying another LCD monitor supporting 1600x1200 and having a dual-monitor desktop with the dual-monitor video card I own.
So my question(s) --
#1. Is upgrading from 1280x1024 to 1600x1200 worth it if you're requiring the workspace? Has anyone else been in a comparable situation like this?
And #2. What LCD monitor(s) supporting 1600x1200 would you recommend for quality? I'm looking at the Samsung 213T (I believe this is the model number) which is a 21" LCD monitor. I'm willing to go between $600-$1000 on the price range for the new monitor. Suggestions anyone?
I have Cool Devices. >.>; I'm not sure how I acquired it because I just found the CD one day. I think a friend dropped it off. Atleast, I hope a friend dropped it off. hrrm.
Sorry if I'm stepping on toes, but this only goes to show how grossly misinformed the majority of Bush-bashers are concerning this president. In 2000, Bush was elected via the Electoral College. However, in 2004, Bush received the majority of popular vote (being a wartime president, you have to understand Kerry received the lot of the vote based on anti-war sentiment and not his policies), yet the liberal side of things attempted pushing Ohio over the barrel so Kerry would be elected through electoral votes, not popular vote. It's quite funny how karma comes around and attacks you.
The last I checked, Bush's policies in Iraq are taking hold. The media is a known slant to the liberal left -- and if you don't believe it, continue watching the Hurricane coverage and notice how much Bush "and his administration" is mentioned to be at fault yet there's rarely a mention of local or state government (governor of Louisiana and mayor of New Orleans) in finger pointing for blame. Local and state government, in the case you were not aware, are the two government bodies that should have been prepared in the event of this hurricane that people have been warning them about for decades.
If you listen to the lot of the Bush bashers bash Bush, you'll think the country only began at his presidency -- as if there was never a natural disaster before, as if there never was a war before.. as if Bush was the reason we were attacked on 9/11, Bush was the reason there was a hurricane, Bush was the reason for basically everything coming into being. Please do some research and don't wait for your TV to tell you everything. The media does have a bias, as do college professors, high school teachers, and elementary teachers.
i personally believe the beheading of Nick Berg, I believe that was his name, needs to be watched more often in school classrooms so the lot of upcoming children know what hatred in the world is actually about. Which follows me up to the next point:
The United States has always been hated to some degree. However, if you look at the current polls being taken in various countries, the US is improving dramatically in it's "image" as we are staying the course, as we always have, in the magnificent portion of this continent we Americans call our country.
I know many pages of this thread have passed (34 at the time of this writing), but I think the above quote is true for not only people using God in this instance but also criticizing in the name of science as well. As I've read only four pages of this thread (and have no intention of going further), I've found atleast one person stating science is a better belief system than Christianity or any other religion. It should be noted here -- science is a theory. All things you've been taught through school regarding science are theoretical, as there is no way to prove (nor will there ever be such a way to prove) the origins of the earth, the origins of the solar system, the origins of this life, the origins of this universe, where we're going after death if anywhere, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. With that being said, science itself and anyone lying in bed with it are on shaky ground.
Let me be so simple by stating the decision of this life revolves around a single question -- do I have faith in God or do I have faith in man? I have faith in God and I state it so and pray it so daily. Ultimately, we're all going to find out some day what our fates are. But with this, I invite all of you who aren't Christian to please pick up a bible and atleast give it a read. If you've given it a read, try to atleast open your heart to Jesus. Prayer, giving thanks.. You shouldn't expect a million dollars, but you can expect love in something other than yourself.
PS. Why am I not bothering to read this thread anymore after four pages? Because it's the same discussion every thread. It's unfortunate this topic rotates around and around on a wheel, but opening your heart for forgiveness isn't too much to ask, nor is it a bad thing in anyone's book.
PS.. PS?
By the way -- there's a reason people call it a "belief" and "faith" in that "belief".
Oh man, one of my ex's was a very attractive gothic girl who --loved-- wearing miniskirts and I loved her for it. >.> She had great legs.. and I enjoyed touching those legs......
mama mia.
So much good advice for various programs here.
I've
looked into E17 and out of the reviews alone I've went away being very impressed
with what I had read. I've tried E16, but I'm having problems with one of the
libraries -- imlib. All of the other libraries install fine, but E16 is having
some issues trying to find imlib after it's installed. I've tried everything
it's suggested, but I'm not quite sure where to go from there.
Concerning the drivers, Fedora Core 4 has native support for the official ATI drivers (ATI Radeon 9800pro being my card), so everything was setup well and looks spectacular as far as my untrained eye can tell. I'll give the Compositing section a try.
As I've posted in another thread, my system specs are as follows: amd64 3ghz, 1gb ram, Ati Radeon 9800pro, 2 120gb drives, SB Audigy..
What about games? What are some official games that have linux ports? This is all kinda new to me and I'm trying to get something working I can be somewhat familiar with to expand on.
While we're talking about random linux entertainment proggies, I have used Vmware and have came away impressed with being able to run Windows fullscreen from within Linux. <.<; Unfortunately, the video seems.. sluggish and the sound seems.. crackly.. for the lack of a better word, and I'm not really understanding what is going on there. Even after installing the Vmware tools thing, it's still got some issues. So playing a game based on Windows from within Vmware is almost out of the question.
FC4 has a program called 'yum'.
I applied.
Thanks Deneiko!
I'll
give them a try.
I'm not exactly a newcomer to Linux as I've used it on and off (mainly off) for the past several years (since RH 5.1), but I haven't been able to really dig in to what Linux offers and some of the cool things that everyone says it can do.
I already know the very themeable desktops are a big answer. I'm looking into things like gdesklets and xfce (and I'm in the process of creating a website specificly for linux desktops because of how groovy they can appear. Want to help? PM pleeeease.
).
With that being said, if you've been using linux for awhile, you know the ins and outs of the OS -- so what are some the "cool" programs and other various things Linux has a jump on Windows with? I basically want things to keep my interest on Linux and steer away from Windows. Surely, I hope you're seeing where I'm going.
<edit> By the way, I'm currently using Fedora Core 4.
My dual-boot workstation: (Fedora Core 4/Windows XP Professional)
AMD64 3ghz
Gigabyte K8NS Mobo
1gb ram
ati Radeon 9800PRO
Sound Blaster Audigy (1)
1 Maxtor 120gb hd
1 Western Digital 120gb hd
1 cdrw/dvd Combo Drive
Silver Antec Super Lanboy Case / Blue LEDs (everywhere)
Silver Samsung Syncmaster 193P LCD / Blue LED
Logitech mx510 Mouse / Blue LED Mousepad
Silver Altec Lansing fx6021 2.1 Speakers (beautiful) (blue leds)
<edit> Y'know, looking at X P as XP actually makes sense.
^.^ It's the thought that counts, mineharu.
Thanks.
